If you're always spilling things and are hard on your clothes, don't buy items that are going to demand more care than you can give. You are just throwing money out the window. Water based stains such as soda, coffee or blood should be pretreated with a commercial product, such as Shout, and then washed. Dry cleaning alone won't remove water-based stains. Oil based stains can't be removed by simple laundering, first take a napkin, dry and blot the stain. Either send the garment to the dry cleaner or carefully treat the stain with a commercial dry-cleaning solvent. Mend all tears and fasteners before laundering. Turn garments
